The IEA is an association of 120,000 members composed of Illinois elementary and secondary teachers, higher education faculty and staff, educational support professionals, retired educators and college students preparing to become teachers. We help build strong local associations that negotiate for their members, lobby to effect excellence and equity in public education, work to elect legislative candidates who are pro-education, provide professional development resources and ensure due process for educational employees.

A+ Illinois is a campaign to provide a quality education for every child in Illinois, deliver lasting property tax relief, and protect services that are vital to children, families and communities Illinois schools are in a financial quagmire. They do not have enough money to provide the quality education our children deserve and laws require. To fill resource gaps, local property taxes—currently the principal funding stream for schools—have escalated. Such action has driven businesses out of the state and increased housing costs.

ParentsandTeachers.net is a website that brings local businesses together to support the volunteer Parent-Teacher Groups in your community. These partners allow us to provide a free communications infrastructure to your group as well as monthly donations to support your group financially.
